Integral Education/Integral Ecology-Sustainability Seminar
Deepening our Practice Through Integral Awareness
August 3rd to the 8th, 2010 at Mount Madonna Retreat Center, Watsonville,
CA
Integral education stands out as one of the most pertinent and practical
means of creating positive change in ourselves and in the world. As
educators we will explore how we can deepen the necessary vision, skills,
and processes to fully serve students and the world that we inhabit.
Integral ecology provides a multifaceted framework for engaging fully with
our human surroundings and the natural world in a way that allows both to
flourish and shine. As ecologists, we will work with our ability to
identify and use understanding of multiple perspectives across many
levels, bringing energy and vision together to make a real difference in
the world we inhabit.
The integral framework offers profound tools for evolving our practice in
all fields, allowing us to step into a larger universe of awareness in our
work in the world. This seminar offers an opportunity to both experience
and learn about embodying an integral perspective through a deeper
understanding of integral theory and its application in the areas of
ecology and education.
Seminar Purpose And Content:
The seminar as a whole will
..Offer and apply a framework that helps us orient ourselves in any
setting;
..Share practical experiences of working in the world as integral
educators and integral ecologists;
..Provide an experience of integral "being and doing" - both in relation
to education and ecology - in the seminar itself; the faculty will offer
an experience of integral education, while also exploring the immediate
ecology and how it reflects broader issues for the planet;
..Articulate perspectives and generate effective next steps that each of
us can bring home and build upon in our day-to-day lives wherever we are
at work in the field;
..Offer ample opportunities for personal and professional self-reflection
and development;
