Renee Una: Breathe
Date/time: Exhibit on view from March 26 through June 25; Opening Reception Sat March 27, 5-7pm
Breathe This exhibit oscillates from the personal to the communal, investigating meditation, with reference to Buddhism. It includes several works, including Breathe, where a figure rhythmically undulates in and out of a wall; Sentient, which takes a literal look at the challenge of meditation, to unite the head and body; and The Prayer Wheel, where the viewer writes a prayer or a wish and spins a wheel to send it out to the Internet.
Renee Prisble Una is a sculptor and installation artist in Chicago. She has shown her work at numerous museums and colleges, and teaches at Loyola University Chicago and Wright College. She is also a student and member of the Shambhala Meditation Center in Chicago.
