We are the ones we've been waiting for: fighting HIV/AIDS among Black gay, bisexual, and other men who have sex with men

The HIV/AIDS epidemic in the United States continues to have the most severe impact on communities of Black gay/bisexual/same gender loving men. This workshop will update participants on the current state of HIV/AIDS among Black gay/bi male communities in the United States broadly and in North Carolina specifically.
This discussion will begin with a brief review of basic facts related to HIV transmission, prevention and treatment. The bulk of the workshop discussion will focus on the development of strategies for reducing the spread of HIV among Black gay and bi men.
The workshop will also include a discussion the latest issues related to HIV in North Carolina, including the NC AIDS Drug Assistance Program and opportunities for political action around this issue.
