Mapping for Watershed Councils
This workshop will explore the particular challenges of watershed councils face in designing meaningful, useful maps for a variety of purposes.
Trainers will include Ashley Seim, GIS and Website Specialist (OWEB), Tara Davis, Executive Director, Calapooia Watershed Council, and Eric Hartstein, Executive Director, South Santiam Watershed Council.
Objectives: --Learn to identify and use the principles of good cartography. --Be able to identify, obtain, and use spatial data sets. --Meet OWEB and OWRI requirements for map submission. --Use the (free, online) Oregon Explorer Advanced Mapping tool. --Learn how to obtain discounted ESRI products for your Council. --Perform basic spatial analysis (using ESRI mapping tools).
The cost of this workshop is $25.00 per person and can be paid via credit card or by mailing a check. Both options carry the same cost.
