Writing Your Story
An eight-week course on the craft of personal storytelling
Adult Memoir Workshop "Writing Your Story"
8 weeks beginning Jan 12 7-10pm.
This workshop is designed to explore your personal story and translate it into a compelling narrative. We will discover the craft of storytelling by studying the elements that help writing to sparkle, including characterization, setting, voice, dialogue and theme. Excerpts from published works will help to serve as inspiration, and creative exercises will help to jump-start your writing and will offer guidance for your work-in-progress. Our goal will be to choose the best piece of writing (500-2,000 words) and create an illustrated book. Bring an idea you've been working on, or simply come willing to explore.
ENROLLMENT: over the phone, in person at the store.
