World Veg Festival in San Francisco, Oct 2 - 3, 2010
The San Francisco Vegetarian Society presents the 11th annual award-winning WORLD VEG FESTIVAL, commemorating World Vegetarian Day. This event is a celebration and open to the general public.
This two-day Award Winning Festival celebrates its 11th year with an action packed weekend of very informative lectures by the movers and shakers of the vegetarian movement plus creative vegan cooking demos; international cuisine to sample or buy; vegan friendly merchandise; a Children's Corner; Veggie Speed Dating; a Vegan Fashion Show by Karine Brighten; and a variety of world entertainers. Some of the outstanding speakers are John Robbins, Steve Blake, Rory Freedman (Skinny Bitch), Dr. Joel Fuhrman, Dr. Michael Greger , Dr. Michael Klaper, Dr. Milton Mills, Dr. Anteneh Roba, Colleen Patrick-Goudreau, & more!
"You do not have to be a vegetarian to come", says SFVS President Dixie Mahy. "We want everyone to come and try our delicious food, learn about vegetarianism and have a good time."
Founded in 1968, the SFVS is a non-profit, volunteer and community-based organization that promotes the nutritional, ethical, social and environmental benefits of a vegetarian diet.
