University by the Sea

Welcome to University by the Sea, a new kind of festival in downtown Long
Beach celebrating art, film and culture on Sunday, October 28 from 12 pm -
9 pm.

You can sign up for classes, uncover the historic Jergins Tunnel, or
simply stroll down Pine Avenue to discover the sights, sounds and
experiences of modern art, dance, music and film.

CLASSES

Sign up for classes to learn fascinating and fun tips and trends from
CSULB professors, top industry leaders, chefs and artists. All classes are
taught in awesome Pine Ave. restaurants with food samplings. Enjoy a
spread from "The History of Prime Time TV" to "Sushi Making" and "Virtual
Worlds" in King's Fish House, CasaVino, Smooth's Sports Grille and others.

JERGINS TUNNEL

Excavate the historic Jergins Tunnel, one of Long Beach's best-kept
secrets. The Jergins Tunnel is an underground 1927 art deco tunnel
running beneath Ocean Boulevard at Pine Avenue. It has been under lock
and key, closed to the public - until now. We'll be showing home movies
from the 1920's - 1960's as well as Buster Keaton films and a Bill Viola
video.

FREE EVENTS

Enjoy a stroll along Pine Avenue for free music, martial arts and dance
lessons, a free outdoor Hollywood Bowl-style film showcase, live arts,
undwerwater robots, Long Beach Armada Fastball Camp, CSULB Kaleidoscope
Exhibits and a Halloween trick or treat.

TRAVEL

Getting to downtown Long Beach is easy! Over 10 parking lots are within
easy walking distance, and many validate for 2-4 hours. Free parking is
available for U-Sea ticket-holders.
