Heartbeats - Rive Nestor
Market Street Gallery is pleased to present "Heartbeats," a solo exhibition by established artist, Rive Nestor, opening September 6, 2010, and running through September 30, 2010. Artist reception on Saturday, September 11, 2010, from 6 PM - 8 PM. Works include Gabrielle's Summer, carved out of Portuguese alabaster.
What defines a heartbeat...blood coursing through one's veins or noticing when something causes one's own heart to skip a beat? Rive Nestor could make you believe that within her inspired works of bronze, marble and alabaster sculpture that there just might be a heartbeat inside those delicious female torsos, her magnificent horses and sublime stone hearts. "What I love about Rive's work is that there is nothing else out there like it... the stones themselves are beautiful and then the magic she creates with them, well, its mind blowing!" Nina Wilson, Chicago, IL.
Rive studied at the Boston Museum School of Fine Arts, Boston Ma, Institute for American Universities in Aix en Provence, France, and received her Bachelor's Degree from Mt. Holyoke College in Massachusetts. She has shown throughout the United States, France and Berlin, Germany.
