Recent assessment of the impact on the ongoing global economic crisis increasingly highlights the deteriorating social and political fallout in the least developed countries and middle-income countries as well. Prospects for an early recovery have faded, forcing countries to prepare for a prolonged downturn in trade, investment and employment. we now have the opportunity and the responsibility to search for solutions that takes into account the interests of all nations, the rich and the poor, the large and the small”.

To make further progress on these commitments, the United Nations Division for Social Policy and Economic Development in conjunction with the UN Association of Great Britain and Northern Ireland (UNA-UK), invites you to a four-day Global Financial and Economic Crisis Summit of Economists, Educationists, Administrators, Manufacturers, Researchers, NGOs,  government representatives and people from public and Private Sector.

This conference will focus on reforming and strengthening the global financial economic system and architecture and identify emergency and long-term responses to mitigate the impact of the crisis, especially on vulnerable populations, and initiate a needed dialogue on the transformation of the global financial system with summit theme:

* The Impact of the Financial and Economic Crisis on Millennium Development Goals MDGs
