Philharmonia Northwest, Concert IV
Featuring: Canyon Park Junior High Symphonic Choir Ailisa Newhall, director M. Haydn - Vespers pro festo Sancto Innocentium L. Beethoven - Symphony No. 6 "Pastoral"
The Canyon Park Junior High Symphonic Choir is part of a 75-voice auditioned choir of 7th, 8th, and 9th grade students from Bothell, WA. Under the direction of Ailisa Newhall since 2006, the Symphonic choir has taken first place or received a superior rating at every festival they have attended. The choir has been invited to perform for numerous cultural events and public venues including the Woodinville Festival of Lights, The Northshore Performing Arts Center, Seattle Center's Winterfest, Alderwood Mall, Pacific Place Mall, Key Arena, Safeco Field, and St. James Cathedral. Many of the choir members take private lessons, participate in community children's choirs, and have attended workshops or rehearsals of local professional ensembles and college choirs. These Canyon Park students are proud to be a part of the Northshore School District's thriving music program. The Northshore District has an enormous music program of extremely high caliber, and the Canyon Park Choir would not have reached such a level of excellence without the support of the many acclaimed music teachers working in the district. The choir would like to thank you for supporting young people who are loving, learning and making fantastic music in the public schools.
