Grief Lifters
Uplifting support tools and connections for people who have lost a spouse
Grief Lifters a new kind of support group for those who have lost a spouse, offering release, inspiration, laughter and practical tools for coping. Ina Hillebrandt, Fortune 500 consultant and author of amazon.com best seller Pawprints, and the new "How to Write Your Memoirs Fun Prompts to Make Writing and Reading Your Life Stories a Pleasure," © will lead the workshops. A widow herself, Ms. Hillebrandt has conducted workshops across the county with men and women widowed from a short period to 10 or 20 years. An article she wrote on the subject of coping with the loss of a spouse will be published later this year by TIAA/CREF. Grief Lifters has been sponsored by Felicia Mahood Senior Center, City of L.A. Department of Recreation and Parks, since April of 2003. Classes meet Fridays, 9:15 to 10:15 in Room 3, at the Felicia Mahood Senior Multipurpose Center, 11338 Santa Monica Blvd (at Corinth). Free.
