Docents Leading Docents - Millard Canyon
Millard Canyon Trail - Shows a variety of hands-on activities for young children at this site
Docents Leading Docents Saturday, December 3, 10am-12pm Millard Canyon The short Millard Canyon Trail leads up a tree-shaded canyon one-half mile to a 50-foot waterfall. It is an easy hike alongside a sandy-bottom stream with regular flowing water and beautiful boulders. Millard Canyon acquired its current name from Henry W. Millard, who homesteaded it with his family in 1862, raised bees there and hauled timber to Los Angeles. Susan Garcia, CNI docent for 13 years, will show us the variety of hands-on activity stops that young children love at this site. Think about what you find most exciting in nature before you come. Susan will gear the activities according to your interests. Group discussion and hands-on participation. Open to CNI docents and sweeps and individuals interested in volunteering on the trail.
