SPARC! Arc Studios & Gallery Artists Inaugural Exhibition
SPARC! New San Francisco gallery opening. Meet the artists of Arc Studios
& Gallery at a reception for their inaugural exhibition on Saturday, March
13, 7-10PM at 1246 Folsom Street, San Francisco (between 8th & 9th in
SOMA).
Featured Artists: Jack Androvich, Kirk Brooks, Mike Kimball, Ben Needham,
Priscilla Otani, Rachel Sager, William Salit, Stephen C. Wagner, Tanya
Wilkinson, Hilary Williams and special guest Matthew Frederick.
The partners of Arc Studios & Gallery - Matthew Frederick, Priscilla
Otani, Stephen C. Wagner and Mike Yochum - are pleased to invite you to
view their newly opened gallery in a building which also houses an art
studio complex, art education center, and Blue Bottle Coffee.
Arc Studios & Gallery inhabits the former location of New Langton Arts
Foundation which closed it's doors in 2009. The partners of Arc are
pleased to carry on the tradition of the space as an arts venue
contributing to the vitality of the neighborhood.
Arc's ten artist studios offer much needed space for local professional
artists to create and produce their artwork, as well as to exhibit their
work during such annual events as SOMA Open Studios in April and ArtSpan
San Francisco Open Studios in October.
Artists that mainly inhabit and work in the city's artistic Mission
district are breaking out of their comfort zone and moving into the
diverse South of Market (SOMA) neighborhood. With art institutions such as
SFMOMA, the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, Jewish Contemporary Museum,
Museum of Craft & Folk Art, and the Cartoon Art Museum establishing a
stronghold of art in SOMA, more artists and art galleries are venturing
into this unique San Francisco neighborhood to live, work, and exhibit
their art.
