Sex and the Spirit
Presented by Dr. Kathi E. Martin, Interactive Faith Cafe, Stone Mountain, GA
As same gender loving persons we sometimes consider sexuality and spirituality to be mutually exclusive. At times this perceived split is at the root of shame and/or irresponsibility among some in the LGBT community. This workshop explores the ways in which sexuality is a sacred gift from the Creator which is to be celebrated. We will discuss how we honor that gift in ourselves and others in life enhancing ways including sexual responsibility. In this presentation we will explores the intersection of spirituality and sexuality including: •How do we reconcile sexuality and spirituality for those who have explored sexuality via oppressive religious teachings? •How does our spirituality enhance or constrain sexual expression? •What role does our spirituality play in promoting sexual responsibility?
Thoughts will be shared by the presenter to facilitate discussion/attendee participation.
