Creative, Concious, Cutting Edge, Provocative, these are just some of the words used to describe the first successful performance of "The Gathering".
Singer/Songwriter, Stephen Longfellow Fiske created "The Gathering",which will be a weekly event of music/performance art every Sunday night presented by The Unity & Diversity Council.
Born out of a yearning for an oasis for heartfelt expression to converge, thrive, and multiply, Stephen Fiske, has brought together an incredible amount of talent for these upcoming events such as musical acts, poetry, spoken word, art, film and mixed media.
Being a singer/songwriter himself, and having had much experience,planning events, Fiske approached the Blankenship Ballet Co (132 Brooks Ave.) with the hopes that they would share their space for artistic expression. Thus having created a safe haven for the artistic spirits of Venice to "Gather".
This Sunday March 30th will mark the 2nd "Gathering" event, which will be a singer/songwriter, poets and artists night. Stephen Longfellow Fiske will be hosting theshow as well as performing with other musical artists such as Alfred Johnson, Kathy Leonardo, Preeta & the Peacemakers and other special guests.
It will be an amazing night to sit back, relax, and embrace this community of local Venice performing artists. Participate in a new beginning, celebrate with a collective unity,with those who dare to share their stories and sing their songs.
